IconFAQs

Does it taste like coffee?

Our herbal coffee alternative offers a dark, rich, toasty, earthy, and nutty flavor. While it does not taste exactly like coffee, it has a robust flavor that softens and sweetens dramatically with the addition of something creamy. It holds up well to milk and cream, similar to traditional coffee, and boasts a complex flavor profile that many find uniquely satisfying.

Is this safe to drink during pregnancy?

Our coffee alternative is crafted from chicory, carob, and dandelion—all ingredients recognized as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). However, every pregnancy is unique. We recommend consulting with a healthcare provider to determine if our product suits your individual dietary needs during pregnancy.

Are your products made in a nut-free facility?

Our products do not contain peanuts. However, they are manufactured in a facility that processes tree nuts, including almonds and coconut, as well as eggs, flax, and soy on the same production line. We take steps to prevent cross-contamination, but it's important for those with severe allergies to consider this information.

Its ok

It doesnt have much taste so Im not sure the purpose of drinking it. It is the best of the alternative coffee types though because most dandelion ones are terrible so if you had to choose one this would be it. But Im not repurchasing. Packaging is nice but its expensive. I got three days worth for 20$ not worth it

A wonderful coffee alternative that’s a must try

I’ve always enjoyed a hot cup of coffee, but the more caffeine I drink, the more cups of coffee you feel you need to be at your best. Add to that stomach irritation that coffee causes, and I avoid drinking except on occasion. I was so surprised when I first tasted Sip Herbals how it reminded me SO much of regular coffee. I even feel a kick from drinking a cup of it without the caffeine crash. It’s part of my morning routine and it replaced hot chai tea that I used to drink in the mornings. Sometimes I drink a second cup because one cup just isn’t enough. I was surprised how stopping the caffeinated chai was no big deal but you won’t miss the caffeine in these teas. I love the cinnamon blend and the maple. So far I’ve enjoyed every flavor I’ve tried. And it is much cheaper than going to a local coffee shop!

Top choice for coffee substitute

My bride and I found Sips Herbals several months ago as we have been in search of a replacement for at least some of the coffee we drink. We have tried several of the competitors to Sips and we have tried most of the flavors from Sips and others.

After a lot of searching, we have found our hot drink that serves well as a coffee replacement. The Salted Maple Blondie has become a staple as our first cup in the morning. The other flavors are great, but my bride and I both have not gotten tired of the salted maple.

As a bonus for us, I have actually reached out to their customer service with some questions and I had a response within 24 hours. We are well-pleased with both the product and the company.

A little bit of sweetness to your morning

Been trying this for about a week. While trying to avoid coffee and go back a bit to AIP friendly alternatives. I’ve been enjoying this. Slightly satisfies that fancy coffee drink withdrawal symptom.

I’ve had the plain SIP Herbals before, but having variety is nice. Just have to make sure you use a fine mesh strainer and you can steep it just like tea. Very convenient in the morning. Would highly recommend if you have dietary restrictions and need to scratch that fancy coffee drink itch.

Adding some plant based milk helps me, but for AIP Coconut milk is also good.

Coffee Alternative FAQ

Sip Herbals is an herbal coffee alternative designed for people who love the ritual of coffee but want a caffeine free coffee alternative. Crafted from roasted chicory, dandelion, and carob, it’s earthy, nutty, and toasty. While it’s not coffee, many customers say it’s the best coffee alternative for maintaining their morning or evening ritual. Whether you’re looking for a coffee alternative without caffeine, a gentle herbal coffee substitute, or even a coffee alternative tea you can brew at night, Sip has you covered.

What is a coffee alternative?

Direct Answer:

A coffee alternative is a beverage that replaces traditional coffee with naturally caffeine free roasted herbs, roots, or grains.

Depth:

Unlike decaf, which still contains trace caffeine, herbal coffee alternatives such as chicory root, dandelion root, and carob are naturally caffeine free. They’ve been used for centuries whenever coffee beans were scarce, too expensive, or too harsh on digestion.

Real Results:

Sip Herbals customers often share that switching to an herbal coffee alternative let them keep their morning routine without the jitters.

Takeaway:

A coffee alternative gives you the ritual without the caffeine.

Is Sip Herbals a coffee alternative that tastes like coffee?

Direct Answer:

Not exactly. Sip Herbals doesn’t taste like coffee beans β€” it has its own roasted profile: dark, rich, toasty, earthy, and nutty.

Depth:

Chicory provides roasted depth, dandelion adds earthiness, and carob rounds it out with natural smoothness. While it’s different from coffee, it stands up beautifully in a latte or with cream, making it feel familiar.

Real Results:

Customers describe it as β€œroasty and satisfying,” saying it delivers the comfort they miss when cutting coffee.

Takeaway:

Not coffee, but a full-bodied, roasted alternative that fills the same role.

What makes Sip Herbals the best coffee alternative?

Direct Answer:

Sip Herbals is simple, caffeine free, and made from just three roasted botanicals.

Depth:

Some coffee substitutes add flavors, sweeteners, or stimulants. Sip keeps it clean: chicory, dandelion, and carob only. This makes it one of the best coffee alternatives for people who want a pure, roasted taste without additives.

Real Results:

Fans say Sip is their everyday choice because it’s versatile enough for black brews, iced drinks, and lattes.

Takeaway:

If you want a no-fuss, flavor-first blend, Sip is a top pick.

Is Sip Herbals safe during pregnancy?

Direct Answer:

Yes, many people use herbal coffee substitutes like Sip Herbals during pregnancy.

Depth:

Sip is naturally caffeine free and made with herbs generally recognized as safe. That said, pregnancy is unique for everyone, so we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider first.

Real Results:

Expecting moms often switch to herbal coffee alternatives to reduce caffeine while keeping a warm daily ritual.

Takeaway:

A gentle, caffeine free coffee alternative β€” but confirm with your doctor.

How does Sip Herbals compare to decaf coffee?

Direct Answer:

Decaf coffee still contains a little caffeine; Sip Herbals is a coffee alternative without caffeine at all.

Depth:

Decaf coffee usually keeps 1–3% of its original caffeine. For sensitive people, that’s enough to disrupt sleep or cause jitters. Sip skips beans entirely, so there’s no hidden caffeine.

Real Results:

Customers sensitive even to decaf find Sip is the only way to fully enjoy a coffee alternative without caffeine.

Takeaway:

If zero caffeine is the goal, Sip wins.

How does Sip Herbals compare to Mud\Wtr?

Direct Answer:

Sip Herbals is made from only three roasted botanicalsβ€”chicory, dandelion, and carobβ€”no mushrooms, no teas, no hidden grains. Mud\Wtr is a layered adaptogen blend with mushrooms, spices, black tea, and is certified gluten-free (despite mushrooms being grown on oats).

Depth:

  • Sip: Clean, simple, earthyβ€”real roasted flavor without stimulants or added ingredients.
  • Mud\Wtr: Complex blendβ€”organic mushrooms, masala chai, cacao, black tea. Gluten-free in the final product, but the oats used in cultivation may concern highly sensitive folks. Contains caffeine and a slew of botanicals that may affect hormone, blood pressure, or interact with medications.

Real Results:

Some customers who tried Mud\Wtr for its wellness boost switched back to Sip for a more predictable and minimal daily ritualβ€”especially if they have gluten sensitivity or want no caffeine.

Takeaway:

Sip = pure, roasted herbal coffee alternative. Mud\Wtr = mushroom spice ritual with gluten-free certificationβ€”but a more complex, caffeine-including formula.

How does Sip Herbals compare to Teeccino?

Direct Answer:

Sip Herbals is made only from three roasted herbs. Teeccino often includes added sweeteners and natural flavors to simulate coffee taste.

Depth:

Sip = chicory, dandelion, carob β†’ dark, rich, toasty, earthy, nutty.

Teeccino = chicory plus dates, figs, and β€œnatural coffee flavors.” The catch: natural coffee flavors are lab-derived compounds designed to taste like coffee without being coffee. Add in fruit sweeteners, and Teeccino leans more like a dessert drink than a clean herbal coffee substitute.

Real Results:

Customers often say Teeccino tastes good but too sweet for everyday use. They switch to Sip when they want a caffeine free coffee alternative that tastes roasty and satisfying without flavor additives.

Takeaway:

Sip = real roasted herbs, no flavorings. Teeccino = added sweeteners and β€œnatural” flavors trying to fake coffee.

Is herbal coffee easier on digestion?

Direct Answer:

Yes, herbal coffee alternatives are naturally lower in acid than traditional coffee.

Depth:

Coffee’s oils and acids can cause reflux or stomach upset. Chicory and dandelion, the base of many herbal coffee substitutes, have long been used to support digestion.

Real Results:

Customers say switching to Sip reduced sour stomach and improved their ability to enjoy a daily cup.

Takeaway:

Smooth, roasty, and easier on digestion.

How do I brew an herbal coffee alternative like Sip?

Direct Answer:

Brew it just like coffee β€” French press, pour-over, drip, or tea infuser.

Depth:

Use 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz cup, steep 3–5 minutes, and adjust strength. It also works as a coffee alternative tea: brew lighter for sipping, stronger for lattes.

Real Results:

Most customers say the French press delivers the richest cup, while tea infusers are easiest for quick brewing.

Takeaway:

Use the tools you already have, whether you want a strong brew or a gentle coffee alternative tea.

What about allergens and storage?

Direct Answer:

Sip Herbals is plant-based, vegan, and naturally gluten-free.

Depth:

Products are made in a facility that may also process nuts and soy. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 12 months for best flavor.

Real Results:

Customers love that Sip’s herbal coffee alternative uses simple ingredients and stores well in the pantry.

Takeaway:

Simple ingredients, easy storage, check the label for allergens.
